Jon Brence & SMBC Theater will be hosting the 7th GPP on Wednesday, June 17th at 9pm Eastern! You may know Jon Brence from his work with Mana Potions or SMBC Theater. The SMBC Theater is a cast of some pretty funny people in some pretty funny videos. I’ve heard they maybe “dressing the part” for their GPP.

Gameplay

Yarr, the landlubbers of Seaside Town are a suspicious lot, but they be convinced that a star has fallen into the ocean and was claimed by the terrible Jonathan Jones. Find the sunken pirate ship and defeat the pirates to earn yer fifth Star Piece. Return to Seaside Town and rescue the landlubbers from the evil that has befallen them. After that, save your game with the satisfaction of a job well-done, matey.

Challenges

Get to the top of the 3-D Maze.
Real men can take on Johnny bare-handed.
Real men can take on Johnny bare-chested.

So I’m assuming bare-handed is no weapon, but is bare-chested no armor and no accessories or just no armor?

Me and my friend nailed these challenges, hard. Makes up for the disappointment of the last GPP, I failed both challenges.

Had to use a bit too many rare items though against Jonny Jones though. I just did no armour though, I’m assuming that’s what sporting a bare chest means.

Bare-chested just means without a shirt. I guess you could skirt around that and give Mario some Work Pants, in fact.

That said, real men don’t accessorize. Ever.

Oh yeah. I remember getting to the top of the maze. Wasn’t too bad.

A Living Oxymoron

It took me at least 15 minutes to get to the top of that maze. Any video I make of the pirate ship will truncate that part. (Yes, I’m still doing a Let’s Play of my SMRPG Fanfest experience, if you want to watch. It’s only up to Booster Tower, since only one video is going up a day, but I’ve recorded and edited up to this point.)

I was able to complete the 3D maze pretty well. Unfortunately I’m not a real man so I fought Johnny fully equip.

I got lucky against Yaridovich, Mario and Peach died, so all I had left was Bowser. Luckily Yaridovich ran out of FP, and I used Red Essence on Bowser, so I had already won at that point.
