Is the rumors true that there is going to be a second season to Haruhi Suzumiya?

I hear the “rumors” practically everywhere I go on the internet.

Sheesh, that second season is like the Duke Nukem Forever of anime, isn’t it?

Well, at least there’s the spinoffs on youtube. Also, K-on is friggin amazing.
I’m sure it’ll happen eventually, though.

Basically if Lucky Star made a band. It’s the latest anime Kyoto Animation is making.

Well, they’ve re-running the first season in Japan since April, and said the run would last 28 weeks, so rumours have been cropping up that after the first one’s done yet, the Second Coming will happen. The networks and KyoAni haven’t said no yet, so unless they’re just running it twice in row, there’s an okay chance.

Season 2? SWEET! I hope someone does an english translation if it comes out.

Last I heard, Haruhi Season 2 is getting pushed to next year, despite the fact that it was all but officially announced to air alongside the second running of season 1 this year. So we’ll see. A second season has been announced but it’s just a matter of when it comes.

Haruhi Second Season has begun, tucked away in the middle of the rerun of the first season. Expect fansubs to hit very soon.

While I like CoalGG subs, the torrent they got out is only for a 170mb mkv. Is it like that for all the higher quality ones? That just doesn’t seem right.

Wow, the style has definitely changed. The ED isn’t as catchy but it’s interesting. Long live Haruhi ^^’

So wait, does that mean we have to wait till next month for the next episode(s)? Geez! Oh well, as long as the episodes are of high quality as this new one and the rest of Season 1, I guess the wait’ll be worth it.

I was considering getting the books, but why bother now. Are there any other books not covered by the anime, and are they good?

The novels are brilliant, but sadly, only the first one is out in English so far (There are however, fan translated versions out on the net.)

Oh, and there’s a lot of details in the novels that they cut out in the anime. Both are brilliant however.

I’m not sure which books are covered in the anime and which aren’t though, I read them a while ago so I can’t remember too well, sorry.

First novel is 200 pages long, fairly large print. They’re not big books, but they’re not tiny either.

I actually started watching the series a few days ago and finished season 1 a few days ago.

The episode, however. Made no sense. There should be two parts to it. The second half wasnt there, and I can’t see one on the schedule. If they don’t do the second half, it’s going to be stupid, and makes that episode completely pointless, but there’s not one on the schedule. So whether the schedule is wrong, or they’re not doing one, I don’t know :-/

The whole comic book effects thing is like, super-cheesy and awesome at the same time.
I’m still waiting for someone to sub the latest episode.
(Yes, I saw the post about Mazui, and I hadn’t heard of them before, I googled ‘em and found nothing but a few boards with people talking about them. Couldn’t find their site anywhere.)

EDIT: I found a torrent that says it’s the new episode done my Mazui, but it says it’s only 69 mb… and it’s even a mkv!
I kinda doubt that this is really it. lol
Or Mazui’s sub of this one is reeeeeeeally crappy quality.

I finally watched the Haruhi episode last night, and I kind of agree with Angela,
This episode wasn’t as “epic” as the others, but I liked it.
There will probably be more insane-closed-space-timetraveling-alien-battle-stuffs in the next episode.

afk now has subs out. Just watched the episode and enjoyed it for what it was. Particularly liked the stargazing scene (and the music during that scene.)

The new OP is alright, but I still prefer Bouken Deshou Deshou by a long shot.

I still have to see it… but the Bamboo Leaf Rhapsody one was really great.

ok so I never read the books and I really wanna know what this “big plot twist that’s different from the novels” is.
could someone post it in a spoiler or something at least?
Also, I can see why Yuki always looks so bored now,
and I can’t believe she hasn’t gone insane.
