Despite its initial appearance, this is a legit thread, heh. Eric Benson is the father of Jeff and Robbie, the two lovable goons who started EB Saga. As it turns out, he’s the reason they even found out about EarthBound because they would watch him play it when they were kids.

Luckily for us, he still plays it — all the time. He estimates he’s beaten the game 100 times, and Robbie and Jeff have confirmed that they see him playing the game on a weekly basis, if not more frequently. He hosted GPP 5 and he was so popular with the chatroom that he is becoming (has become?) a meme of his own.

Oh dang, really? Before I locked this I was even starting to wonder if maybe the name “Eric Benson” had some relevance that I had missed, so I did a forum search for it — but there are zero hits for “Eric Benson” anywhere on the forums ever, except for this thread, so I just figured PSI Rockin’ A had gone off the deep end. XD

So, should this be unlocked, or what?

Anyone besides me notice “Eric Benson= EB=EarthBound.”

In a show of solidarity as penance for flagging it in the first place, I made a game cover. And also I got the guy’s head for you to use, though I had to do it off a screenshot from vimeo, so the qualities none to great.
