Yeah, I sure do love when games let you put in your own crazy names for characters. And since you may or may not be starting a new game of Earthbound around now, go ahead and think of some good names and post them here.

I’m going for an Arc The Lad theme this time.
Ness: Arc, the main hero
Paula: Kukru (Kukuru), the warrior priestess
Jeff: Poco, the musician
Poo: Iga, the monk
King: Hemo-ji, one of those weird creatures
Fav food: Herb.
Fav thing: PK BrnGnd (Burn Ground, or as Arc’s voice acting says, “Baan Guraundo!”) Arc’s signature move.

Now go on and think of some good ones!

Miracle Fassad:

Default for me. Always default. I have like OCD or something about RPGs. If the characters are not named what their names actually are, it just bugs me throughout the whole game. Exceptions are Pokemon and of course, RPGs with no default names.

This pretty much. Sometimes I’ll put something like babies or humans for favorite food, though.

I went with a Team Fortress 2 theme last year so this year I think I’ll go with a Digimon theme

If I decide to try to keep up with the playthrough, I’ll definitely be naming my characters as various scientists.
Call me nerdy, but something’s just fun about ripping through foes with a systematic method of observing how you do it to do it better.

Ness = Issac (Newton, one of the most awesome scientists with the most potential)
Paula = Marie (Curie, who worked on radioactivity, making her a wielder (or target) of awesome energy based powers)
Jeff = Tesla (Nikola Tesla, the most badass inventor to ever walk the earth)
Poo = Kanda (actually Kanada. Hindu philosopher in the 6th or 2nd Century BCE who is said to have started the concept of the atom (separate from Leucippus and Democritus))

I’d normally have fun with the names, but this will be my first time playing EB on a console (Wii’s Homebrew Channel, still don’t/can’t have the SNES cart) so I’ll be using default names.

Don’t know if anybody else has done this, but I’m using a “The Young Ones” theme.

I chose Helen for Paula, because if you’ll remember there was that woman in the episode “Time” named “Helen.” Then I chose plates for food, because Vyvyan mentioned in “Cash” that broken dishes was his recipe. Summer is the PK Special because they do seem to like summer a lot, as shown in the last episode, Summer Holiday. I mean, who doesn’t?

Did you guys know that for eight years I didn’t know “Don’t Care” gave you names? I didn’t figure out where everyone was getting Ness, Paula, Jeff, and Poo from until one day when I was 16 I accidently chose “Don’t Care” and had my mind blown away! lol.
