It’s been news for a while, but Bionicle is back.

For those who don’t know, Bionicle was a series of Lego sets that utilized Technic pieces. It lasted from 2001-2010 with a grand story that was told through comics, films, etc. and revolved around six heroes of different elements fighting off evil (that’s as bare bones as the story gets, while the entire story became super complicated).

But yeah, sets have been in stores for quite some time now. I picked up a few to send me back to my younger days, and I’m really digging the designs and flexibility of these new Bionicle sets.

So Bionicle thread, I guess. Anyone have fond memories? Favorite sets? Opinions on the new sets?

I had approximately one of the sets, and that was all. I also remember playing (read as: messing around and not actually understanding it at all) that adventure game on the official LEGO site back in the day, though I don’t remember it too too well. Actually, it wasn’t until years later that I learned “Oh hey, there’s a plot to this.” It’s cool that they’re bringing it back, though.

I used to get bioncles for christmas evry year from when I was,4, I guess, to like, 17ish.

Dude Bionicle was awesome! I had all the Toa and a few extra sets up to the Toa Metru arc, and then we still kinda followed it up to the Piraka arc I think?

Anyways, I’m glad it’s back. Only problem so far is that none of the new Protectors have names. What’s up with that? One of the selling points of Bionicle is that everything has a name!

I have mixed feelings about Bionicle. It was pretty cool when it came out, but I feel like it was the harbringer of an age of Lego where they could get away with selling less pieces for more money.

Oh man, I loved Bionicle back in the day. I remember collecting all of the original Toa, and then started on collecting all the Bohraks, and the little sidekick/elder guys on both sides.

But I didn’t get too far because they ended up releasing a new generation of Toa, which made me see Bionicle for the crazy cash cow that it was.

As a kid, I was so found of Bionicle, me and my brothers would always have one new Toa or Bionicle related product for christmas.

But I also bought the PS2 game, it was really awful, must have been the first time I felt betrayed by a game.
