I’m going to get straight to the point.
If you go into Forest Of Illusion 4 there is a lakitu holding a 1-up mushroom. He is going to be your God.
1. Beat the level (DO NOT GET THE CHECKPOINT)
2. Go back to the level.
3. Grap the 1-up mushroom
4. Press pause then select.
5.Repeat above until desired amount of lives is reached!
