Cave Story+-A game I thought I wouldn’t buy for a loooong I ended up getting in the Humble Indie Bundle 4. This’ll be the first time I play the game all the way through to the best ending, since I only got to the not-so-good but also not-so-bad ending when I played Wii, and never finished it when I played the original freeware version. Cave Story is in my top 3 2D platformers, so it would’ve been criminal to not pay for this in some form again.

Half-Life: Source-A game I sort of regret buying. I can only use certain ported skins(which I do), no mods, and the multiplayer is frankly crap, but I have TF2 to fill that void. Really the best part of Half-Life is the singleplayer, and over 10 years later, by Google, it still hold up remarkably. I recommend the Source version for people who just want to have the best experience possible with the singleplayer Half-Life, but people who want to get in on the community made stuff, stick with the original GoldSrc version.

Psychonauts-Another game I sort of regret buying, only because I had played it all the way through to the end once. But it was free, as I used the Gametap service, so I never payed a cent to play it. With the Holiday Sale, I was able to rectify this by buying the game at last. I’m currently right at the Lungfish boss, and I need to get back around to doing that.

Serious Sam HD: The Second Encounter-Have I ever mentioned how much i love DOOM? Serious Sam is kind of like that, infused with a healthy dose of Duke Nukem. It’s a ton of fun, and if you like run n’ gun type shooters, I give this a full recommendation. Sometimes the scope is so ridiculous, especially in co-op, you can’t help but laugh or be left in awe that you just conquered that. I’m early in the game, second level, stuck on a jumping puzzle while also having to dodge and shoot big green orbs that follow me around while also making sure my feet touch something. It’s as hard as it sounds.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim-Surprisingly, despite having 32 hours clocked in now, this is the one I’m playing the least of. Maybe it’s because my computer isn’t quite up to snuff, though it is still playable, or because I’m underlevled because I prefer to wear a robe instead of armor when I go through the wilderness and dungeons, I don’t know. It’s fun as hell, and I do often get immersed in it, if I allow myself to start up the game. Maybe once the creation kit comes out(hopefully) next week, my interest will be spontaneously revitalized.

So, Starmen, what are you playing at this moment?

Oh, also, honorable mention, Goldeneye 007 Wii. I don’t play it a lot mainly because it’s on Wii, but when I do play it, I really enjoy it. I just wish the multiplayer wasn’t so restrictive unless you have a really high level, which is about the dumbest thing I can think of for multiplayer, but it’s an Activision shooter, so it’s pretty much mandatory.

Space Pirates and Zombies- It’s a pretty fun game about being a space bandit except it’s also pretty slow paced even at the smallest galaxy size

Orcs Must Die- help i’m bad at this but killing orcs is the best thing

Space Station 13- an old standby of griefing and hidden complexity

Dark Souls- oh god why

Dungeons of Dredmor lutefisk for the lutefisk goooooodddddddd

I have the dreaded pirate’s curse and am in the middle of way too many games

I’ve been trying to get back into Pokemon HeartGold recently just because I never finished it. I just got the eighth badge after a year and a half of not bothering and I realized yet again that it is incredibly grindy and I can barely deal with it.

I’ve also been playing through Final Fantasy 6 since it’s on Virtual Console now and it’s pretty great. I’m at the Floating Continent and so far I absolutely love the game. Fantastic story and I wish more games that tried to have a good story could at least be as good as this.

I bought Painkiller back during the Steam sale last week and it’s pretty amazing so far. The first boss is dumb and cheap and I’ll probably never bother with that tarot card but it’s a pretty great run n’ gun FPS in the style of Serious Sam.

I’m playing a ton of games on and off. I’m mostly playing Skyward Sword and Pokémon Gold right now, though.

Anyway… on topic…

I’ve been playing Vampire Savior non-stop since I got it in the mail the other day. Man, Capcom needs to make another of these…

I have a bad habit of starting games and never finishing them, so I’ll only count the ones I’ve played in the last few weeks.

• Bastion – Just got through with my first play-through and am about to go through New Game+ to get some of the achievements I missed the first go around. I’m not looking forward to trying to obtain the “Beat this Who Knows Where level with all idols active” achievements though, as I had a hard enough time as it is completing them without any idols active.

• Beyond Good and Evil HD – I’ve played this game off and on for years now on multiple platforms, but this is the first time I’ve actually had the attention span to get past the Nutripills factory. So far this play-through, I’ve managed to get to the Slaughterhouse, as well as grab several pearls and animals I missed on previous attempts.

• Mass Effect 2 – Going through and doing a quick play-through before Mass Effect 3 comes out. My initial plan was to have a pure Paragon and pure Renegade save file to take into the next game, but my schedule has been so busy lately that it looks like I’m only going to have time to finish re-playing through my pure Paragon file before March 6th rolls around.

• MGS HD Collection – Started playing through MGS2 since I never got to play it when it first came out. I’ve just got past the part where you meet Vamp for the first time, but haven’t had enough time to get much farther than that. From what I’ve played so far, I’m really enjoying it. While my stealth skills could use some work, I’ve found the game to be rather forgiving whenever you get caught so far. I imagine that will change later on, but for now it’s nice to know that they’re subtly holding my hand until I get the controls down.

• Puzzle Agent 2 – This one has gotten pushed to back-burner at the present moment, but I plan to pick it back up as a sort of pallet cleanser between play sessions of Mass Effect 2 and MGS HD Collection. The game itself is essentially a Professor Layton clone with a Twin Peaks vibe, but there is nothing wrong with that. Aside from the reuse of several puzzle types from the previous game, it’s shaping up to be a great follow-up to the original.

Well, I haven’t been playing too many games, I’m waiting for some games to come in the mail, like Yoshi’s Island and EarthBound.

King of Fighters ‘99 – New favorite fighting game right here, because I don’t really consider Brawl to be a fighting game. It’s more of like an action-platforming-deathmatch thing.

F-Zero – This game is incredibly addicting and really challenging, too.

Super Mario Kart – I honestly did not think I would like this game, and though it’s not great, it’s a pretty fun game.

Super Mario World – Ohhhhh yes, I’m already at Chocolate Island after 2 days of playing this game.

Cave Story 3D – I CANNOT FIND THAT LAST DOG IN SAND ZONE.

Solatorobo: Red the Hunter – I’ve not been playing it lately because I’m devoting time to Team Fortress 2, but this game is pretty cool. My only beef with it is that without doing all the sidequests (speaking of, there are copious amounts of these), it’s very short for a handheld RPG. I like it a lot though. Good music, great graphics for the DS, and the story is pretty neat as well.

Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks – Like with Solatorobo, I’ve been putting this off because of TF2. I did get the first temple today though, and I’m liking what I’m playing. The music is fantastic, too.

Right now I’m playing Super Paper Mario, and I also started Final Fantasy VII, the original game. I kind of want to get SPM out of the way and get further in FF7…

As of late I’ve been playing the original Half-Life and Deus Ex. I’ve been getting really side tracked by anime though.

TF2 occasionally. Been playing Medic more often than I used to. Most of the time I spend in this game is idling offline for items to scrap, building my metal supply. Not really sure why since I have all the things I want, but given they keep adding new stuff I figure I’ll be buying something with my metal before long.

Replaying Borderlands. My comp got the virii from hell a while back and had to format everything, giving me an excuse to run through the game again. I just wish I could do co-op with someone, the game is fun and all, but I really would like to try it with a partner.

Replaying STALKER:SoC. Played through the game twice or so on Vanilla, tried a few mods but most tend to make the game even crash-ier than Vanilla. Just using ZRP this time, though I wish AMK wasn’t so buggy. Why must every mod that adds new weapons and whatnot be so buggy?

Replaying Deus Ex. This time I have sworn to myself that I will NOT cheat. So far I’m keeping that promise. I just get so tempted to spawn myself more non-lethal weaponry…

Sim City 4. Loved 3000, but never could get far in 4. Recently found some tips and techniques for it, giving it another go.

Replaying Final Fantasy 9. I love this game, just wish the game didn’t include that god-awful Red Light/Green Light QTE on disk 3. At least they could have made that optional like the Hot and Cold garbage. Would have been nice if the plot didn’t suddenly turn into FF4 near the end. Seriously Square, you did the whole “They wanna take over our planet” thing before, why did you have to re-hash it? I’m so frowny face right now! Oh well, at least the graphics have aged better than FF7’s Lego heroes.

I am constantly playing TF2. There is almost no reason for me to quit, it’s too fun.

DCUO. It’s the only MMO I actually like, unfortunately I’m the only one I know who plays even if it’s free to play now.

Skyrim. Not as much as before, mostly since I’m not at home on my own account. DCUO I have accounts both at home and at my parent’s so its a different matter.

I’ve beaten Partner’s in Time at least 5 times. Final boss is a pain though because it seemed like each time I’d get through the game, I’d be at an even lower level by that point.

I’ve started playing quite a few games actually, I’m currently in the process of finishing Okami for Game Club, and on the side I’m playing Mario & Luigi Bowser’s Inside Story, the first Professor Layton, Okamiden, and I’m playing through Mother 3 again. Not sure which I’ll finish first (probably M&L3) or if I’ll finish any of them at all

Been playing through Chrono Trigger and Mother 2 again… love being able to carry them both in my pocket. :P

Other than the obvious, I’ve been playing through Yoshi’s Island DS, and the nastalgia is there even though the game is completely different. I’m impressed with it. :O

^ Sadly, the most of the Ace Attorney series that people I know probably know is “Objection!” It’s sad. D:

Metal Slug 3, Dodonpachi Dai-Ou-Jou, Counter-Strike Online, etc.

I’m surprised MS3 only took 12 continues from start to finish, I could take more and longer to get it all done.

Am now playing Monster Hunter Tri.

Am not looking forward to later battles.

Am hoping I can learn everything I need to.

I’m mostly playing Battlefield 3 at the moment.

This game has the incredible ability to both be the most fun I’ve had in a multiplayer shooter since TF2 and infinitely annoying at the same time, though I suppose the annoying part of the game comes more from the arseholes who play it rather than the mechanics of the game itself (i.e. spawn camping attack helicopters, anyone who uses the USAS, and as always, those snipers who would be more at home playing Sam & Max than an FPS)

But overall yeah, BF3 is fun, explosions and stuff.

Just got Kingdom of Amalur: Reckoning. It’s a lot of fun, and the music is really good (of course it is, it’s done by Grant Kirkhope). The best way I can describe it is World of Warcraft with combat reminiscent of God of War. The combat is very smooth and fluid. You’ll never get frustrated that you’re getting your head caved in because you can’t hit things properly. There’s plenty of weapon types, and each of them are really fun to use. Seriously, at least try the demo, you get about an hour’s worth of running around in the first areas.

I’ve been playing Persona 4 for the first time. It’s probably one of the best games I’ve ever played so far.
