Mother 3 emulated on PlayStation Portable?

MarcDK

Before I flash my PSP I want to know how well mother 3 runs on the GBA emulator. Any experience with the GBA emulator on the PSP?

I’ve got a PSP slim, and I’ve never gotten it to work. Dunno if anybody else has done any better. I’d still recommend flashing, though.

I have a PSP phat (the original) and mother 3 runs near-perfectly with the GPSP emulator.

started monkeying around with it, myself, tonight, and I finally got it to work with 3.3 I’ll put the link here:

Mother3 runs great on it (although it just feels more authentic on a GBA)

I’m new to putting emulators on my psp, so does it matter what firmware you have? Will it work on any?

ok I just installed it and put M3 on it and went to play it and I got a screen that said “game could not be started” I’m trying to figure out what messed up. Any help is appreciated. Sorry for asking so many questions btw.

I have CFW 5.00 M33-3 on a slim and from using UO gpSP kai 3.2 test 8.7, I was able to run the game near flawlessly. There were a few issues with sound timing, but that’s not extremely necessary and can be fixed with a little bit of further tweaking.

Im using gpsp to play it it runs great on my CFW 5.00 M33-3 on a fat no faws at all its perfict

Currently using UO gpSP kai 3.3 test 1; only minor sound/timing issues. I might consider a more recent version of this unofficial build of gpSP.

Here’s some advice to anyone who wants to play the Mother games on their PSP. 1. You need to have custom firmware. If you have a PSP 3000 and the regular fw is 5.03 there is a hack that is easy to find that you can use to play emulators. However, if it is above that then there is nothing you can do for now. 2. to get cfw you need a Magic Memory stick and a Pandora Battery. Google it. 3. if you are going to use gpSP use one of the unofficial versions. They work great and Mother 3 runs almost perfectly on it. In fact, I played Mother 3 on VBA on my comp and it runs better on my PSP. I am running all three on a PSP phat with cfw 5.00 M33-4. Be careful buying Pandora batterys and magic memory sticks. I bought a kit and the memory stick was blank. Luckily it was Magic gate enabled so I could just make it a magic memory stick myself. It’s easy to do. Just google it all. Nearly every PSP is hackable.

It’s perfect on my Slim. I’m also using it to play Earthbound Zero.

Just to throw in my agreement here that, if you want to play Mother 3, you HAVE to get an unofficial build of gpSP. The version numbers are funky and make it hard to know which version is the most recent/best one to use, but a little bit of time looking them up on google will tell you what you need. And it’ll be worth it, as I was running Mother 3 on my PSP slim almost perfectly. It runs like butter, and the timing was great.
