Struthio Camelus

Keepers of Eagleland is a MOTHER themed roleplay featuring many users from the writing board, including Ostricho, Mr. Meme, TurtleGirl, Tsuri, PKBeats, and Clouder/DaHog. Twenty years have passed since the events of EarthBound, and Eagleland has recovered from Giygas’s attacks. However, a new villainous force unveils itself, and Eagleland is plunged into chaos. With “Redcoats” appearing around the nation, new heroes unite to face off against this threat — whisking them away from their hometown Munation and into the fight!

Started in May 2017, there are now many logs available to read. This thread has been created to share these logs and the artwork of the characters. This is not a thread for actual roleplaying.

The RP has ended as of May 14, 2018 — and all arcs are available to be read.

Ruby Delgado

A thirteen-year-old girl with a taste for retro music living in the town of Munation. Her father may be a general at the nearby military complex, but that doesn’t stop her from getting into trouble. After finding herself in her first skirmish at the nearby supermarket, Ruby discovers quickly that the faint sparks from her fingers aren’t much help in combat. Afterwards, she finds herself wrapped up in the escalating Redcoat conflict, and her psychic powers grow along with the stakes.

A hard-working man from the Munation Mines with a warm smile, a spectacular mustache… oh, and a fully mechanical arm. Always the optimist, Gerald brushes away unpleasant thoughts in exchange for a bright outlook. When things go awry in his hometown of Munation, however, it won’t stand back idly as chaos unfurls around himself and his new friends. Instead, he leaps into the fray and puts his enthralling muscles to use! Just watch out for his garlic breath!

A young man with uneasy family relations and an unfortunately boring job at the local L-Mart. Although he’s decked out in a leather jacket and carries a switchblade, don’t be fooled. Fred is a friendly soul who is not afraid to express his emotions. His empathetic nature finds itself amplified when Fred discovers his own psychic potential: the ability to feel how anyone else is feeling! But with trouble brewing among family and friends, he is sure to find himself on an emotional roller coaster…

As one of the posters for this RP, I must say that it’s quite unlike anything I’ve participated in before! Although most may think of roleplays as silly excursions between friends, I think this beast goes to show just high quality RPs can truly be. Just a fair warning, though. It’s long. As in, very long. Please don’t read it in one sitting. It’ll probably hamper your enjoyment of the story a little, heh heh. Oh, and do keep in mind that these are the raw logs from our Discord server. As such, they’re not fully grammar and spelling checked, so expect to see some errors here and there.

But above all, please enjoy reading! The RP isn’t over yet—expect a few more arcs to come in the next few months! We’ve put a lot of time and effort into this, so I really hope you like it!

We usually just begin posting throughout the day. There’s no real schedule, usually it’s just “hey it’s x person’s turn” and then we wait for them to be available. Typically we post consistently throughout the afternoon, evening, and night almost every day though.

Being a part of this RP has been amazing. It’s been so much fun, good character-making practicing and writing practice, and I feel really happy to be a part of this big project. It’s finally over, it’s massive, and it’s glorious. Thank you everyone who’s been reading, too! I know how difficult it’d be to read through all of this, as there is a lot, so your attention is extremely appreciated.

Ah, my first RP. I can say without a doubt that this constant, consistent style of writing helped me improve my writing abilities. Gerald was a fun character to write, especially during fights, where he could bust out some creative and over-the-top moves. The story here is also some great stuff, probably one of the best you’ll find for an original Mother fanfiction imo. Overall, while it is very long, I suggest a read over of these logs for anyone who is interested and has the time. I promise that it will entertain you.

Keepers of Eagleland was my very first RP, and participating in it improved my writing skills drastically. It was my first time writing seriously, let alone acting as a character in a fictional story. I was Fred, and writing as him was tricky because of his unique power as well as the emotions involved, but I think his character arc turned out okay in the end.

In addition to writing, I also drew stuff for Keepers of Eagleland. Just be warned that some can be spoilery if you hadn’t read certain parts yet.
