Maplewood Valley is an indie RPG inspired by the Mother series that is being developed with RPG Maker VX Ace.
The story centers around the paranormal happenings in Maplewood Valley, a sleepy town situated in the northeastern United States. After coming into contact with a secret society rumored to be behind various abductions throughout the town’s history, four teenagers band together in the autumn of 1999 to investigate the supernatural occurrences throughout the town.
- Explore the vast town of Maplewood Valley and see everything it has to offer.
- Converse with the townspeople. Each NPC’s dialogue updates over time, so make sure to check in every so often.
- Investigate paranormal goings-on as you duel with aliens, specters, government agents and more.
- Stop at the nearest bench to rest and restore your HP.
- Head to the local library to get all the info you need on enemies, skills and sidequests.
- Don’t forget to stop at a computer every so often to save your game!
Rivers Lee
An investigative, curious boy who’s had an interest in conspiracy theories and the supernatural ever since the mysterious disappearance of his mother.
Percy Anderson
An athletic, confident boy with a knack for fighting games. He’s been Rivers’ best friend since childhood, and usually ends up being the one to get him out of trouble.
Chloe Morgan
A sarcastic girl known for doing anything but what the authorities say. She’s typically very secretive about her personal life, and only opens up to a few people.
“Jonas”
A shy boy of few words who recently moved into town. Some claim to see him sneak out into the woods at night and come back hours later, though he says it’s just a rumor.
